Ajay Binay Institute of Technology, Cuttack organized an AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programme on Environment and Waste Management from 25th May to 07th June 2011.
The scheme, Staff Development Programme is operated by the Research, Institutional and Faculty Development bureau of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The programme is intended to provide opportunities through AICTE approved staff colleges and Institutions for induction training to teachers employed in AICTE approved Technical Institutions to facilitate up gradation of knowledge and skill. The expected outcome are promoting quality of teachers, facilitated career and faculty development.
The inaugural session of the programme was held on 25th May 2011 at 10.30 A.M. in the auditorium of ABIT. Chief Guest Shri Sudhanshu Bhushan Mishra, IAS, (Retd.) Former Chief Secretary to Govt. Of Odissa, inaugurated the programme. Ar. K.B. Mohapatra, Director,ABIT Group of Institutions presided over the meeting. Dr.(Mrs.) Bijoya Mishra, Former Principal, Rama Devi Women’s (Autonomous) College, Bhubaneswar was the Guest of Honour. Dr.(Mrs.) P.R. Mishra, Director (Academic), ABIT spoke to the audience about the programme. Dr. S.K. Misra, Principal, ABIT gave the welcome address. Dr. S.N. Pattnaik Professor of Chemistry ABIT and the coordinator of the programme introduced the Guests on the dias and presented the objectives of the programme and the theme of the topic. Prof. (Dr.) B.K. Mohapatra, Former Chairman, Council of Higher Secondary Education, Bhuabneswar, delivered the keynote address. Dr. B.N. Guru, Head, Deptt. Of Chemistry, ABIT proposed a vote of thanks, 20 teachers from different institutes participated in the programme. Each day except Sundays there were two sessions. Eighteen Resource persons from various fields like teaching, industry, Govt. Deptts., Pollution Control Board, IIT etc. were invited on different days to deliver their talks. The presentation of each resource person was extremely good and of high standard. Three participants also gave presentations on different topics. On Sundays during this 2 week programme, visit to some management sites was conducted to acquire practical knowledge.
The valedictory session of the programme was held at 2.30 P.M. on 7th June, 2011 in the auditorium. Shri S.Praveen Kumar, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack was the Chief Guest. In the end the certificates of participation were distributed
